Retro Twist.

Twists-- that's the best word I can use to describe the colorful pattern on my waterfall dress.

Purple, orange, yellow, & navy twists saturate the entire surface of the tan colored dress that I purchased half off at Francesa's.

What do you think of this retro look? Was it oh so sophisticated, or a blast that should have been left in the past?

Dress: Francesca's Collection, $23

Going With the Flow...

For certain the colors coral and blue don't match.

But they sure as heck go together to create a winning combination.

For almost a year now, I've racked my brain trying to figure out what in the world I could wear with this nautical-esque skirt that I picked up at the Goodwill. It just so happened that I was wearing this coral colored tube top one day when I was trying on the skirt and glanced at myself in the mirror-- in that instance I felt the universe stand still!

Okay, so maybe that's a slight exaggeration, but I was pleasantly surprised at how good the two looked together.

To complete the look, I threw on my new (and favorite) sandals from Rugged Wear House, a simple gold pendant necklace and my gold bangles.

So,what do you think of my look-- was it a hit...or should I have nixed the coral for white?

If the Crown Fits...

Last weekend was one for the books. In celebration of my 20th birthday I made a little road trip to Charlotte, NC to see one of my favorite guys perform-- Drizzy DRAKE! Held at the Verizon Wireless Ampatheatere the concert featured French Montana, 2 Chainz, Wacka Flacka Flame,  North Carolina's Own J.Cole, and last but not least Mr. Aubrey Drake Graham.

I fell in love with Drake way back in 2009 when he released his first mixtape, So Far Gone. You couldn't get into my car without hearing Best I Ever Had, or Sooner than Later. When his 1st cd Thank Me Later dropped, I had it. As a matter of fact I played it NON-STOP during the summer of 2010. His latest cd Take Care is my latest favorite. As opposed to all the club bangers featured on a lot of rap artists albums, Drake isn't afraid to slow things down to a more mellow vibe. The anthem of the night was Drake's motto YOLO (You Only Live Once!)!

Since the concert was outside, I wanted to wear something fairly simple, but still cute. Originally my plan was to wear a cute summer dress, but after giving it some thought I decided to go with this royal blue jersey jumper. I got told a couple times that I looked like Princess Jasmine, my response was "If the crown fits!"

Study Break

April showers bring May flowers, but it seems that the only thing in full bloom here in NC is the HEAT. Determined not to let the the hot weather and stress of exams get the best of me, I decided to wear this cute tri-colored romper that's been hiding out in my closet ever since last summer for a day filled of studying and test taking!
Mid-day after boredom had finally set in, me and my girls decided to take an afternoon study break, which for me somehow turned into a photo op.

My romper was purchased last year on sale at Ross for $6.99. I had never worn it because: A) It was one size too big and B) I wasn't sure if I really liked it that much. But as it turns outs I've gained a little of the Freshman 15 I had managed to avoid last year and well, on a 90 degree day what could be more comfy than cute romper?

Accessories were minimal, my new cat eye sunglasses from Forever 21 (similar), with black flats and  a simple silver necklace.
