What NOT to Wear to A Christmas Tree Farm

Coat: American Eagle (similar) / Sweater: Gap Outlet (similar)/ Jeans: Gap/ Flats: Rainbow (similar)

You know I how I'm always saying you can never go wrong with animal print? Well, I didn't mean to, but I lied. You can go wrong. Super-duper wrong, especially when you make the mistake of wearing leopard print ballet flats to a Christmas Tree Farm. Trust me, I speak from experience.

On our way back from Tennessee, my family and I made an impromptu stop at the Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm in Waynesville, North Carolina to pick out a tree. Something told me before getting out of the car that I might want to swap my new, cute and dainty leopard ballet flats for my something a little more sturdy, but obviously I chose fashion over functionality...at least temporarily.

Lol, my little sister slipped and fell about five or six times.
I changed into Sperry's when my flats proved to be ALL wrong for the occasion.

After watching everyone in my family fall multiple times, and when my flats became soaking wet because of the snow/ice on the ground, I decided to hightail it back to the car for a more suitable pair of Christmas Tree Farm shoes. My cousin, who had decided she didn't want to partake in the fun, loaned me her Leopard Print Sperry's. They didn't offer much traction on the slippery ground either, but at least my feet weren't wet in them and...they were still pretty fashionable.

The moral of this story:
Cute leopard print flats with an ankle strap are great for taking pictures on the back porch of a cabin, but not so much for trekking through snow and ice to find a Christmas Tree.

Leopard Snow Boots

Vest: c/o Deb  / Shirt: Ross (similar) / Skirt: c/o Deb / Tights: c/o Deb / Booties: c/o Deb

Who says snow boots can't be leopard booties with 5 inch heels?  I braved the snow in these babies and did just fine, not to mention, I was probably the most stylish girl on the mountain!

The Best Parts of Being A Girl

Shirt: Rue21 / Skirt: JcPenny/ Sandals: ZooSho/ Purse: Michael Kors/ Shades: The Limited
The best parts of being a girl are easily:

1. Wearing dresses and skirts all summer long
2. Nail polish in pretty colors
3. Lipstick
4. High Heels
5. Handbags
...and the absolute best part
getting all dolled up like this :)

Thug Life.

I won't deny it, I'ma straight rida.

You don't wanna mess with me.

So, maybe you'd be a little more apt to believe me if I didn't have such a huge Kool-aid smile planted  on my face. But even then I'm not really sure how successful I'd be in conceiving someone of my thug mentality.

WHOMP.

Not tough however, is believing that my girl Rhi Rhi walks a little on the wild side.

While Rihanna can get away with American Flag cut off shorts, suspender tights, a fur jacket, and stiletto boots, this girl can't. And I'm not at all afraid to admit it. Which would explain why when I (Kierra, the biggest scaredy cat) set out to put together a wild Rhianna inspired look, I did my best to "stay in my lane" and create something that was a combination of both styles--mine and hers.

I instead stuck with what was comfortable to me which consisted of my black Forever21 blazer, a white tee, my favorite leopard print scarf from The Limited, cut off shorts, black tights (that did not intially have a run in them), Steve Madden boots, and ancient Forever21 earrings that have been hiding out in my jewelry box for at least 2 years now. I've been wanting to try the whole, tights with denim shorts look for a while, so on a whim I went for it.

I guess this was the same type of whim that possessed Rihanna to get "Thug Life" tattooed on her knuckles. Now, normally I'm down with Rih and I've always found her style to be impeccable. But, the "Thug Life" tattoo, I just can't get down with it. However, I've always been told " Don't knock it until you try it." Sooo...I tried it. My little cousin tatted me up with a Sharpie Marker. And while I thought perhaps my "new ink" might make me feel invincible or up my street cred...it did neither.  Just goes to show that everything is not for everybody. Thug Life may be Rihann's new motto, but it's not mine. I think I'll instead stick with my old faithful-

"A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous."

Keeping Up With The Kardashians!

I'll admit it, on most Sunday nights you can catch me tuned into E! at 10 p.m. to get my 30 minute weekly  dose of Kardashian antics. While the girls' true claim to fame is certainly debatable, one thing that can't be denied is that they have a killer sense of style.

I first wore this dress for a guest blog appearance on J's Everyday Fashion Blog (check out my guest  appearance here! ) but to be honest, I wasn't totally satisfied with the look. I'd been thinking of a new way to rework it when I came across the above pictures of 2/3 of the Kardashian clan rocking leopard print for the launch of their new Kardashian Kollection at Sears. Taking a hint from the stylish Kardashian "dolls", I paired a black blazer from Forever21 ($29.80) with my Eighty Six Dress from Belk (on sale for $20.99) and metallic necklaces from Target (3.99).

I personally think that the black blazer was the best look...but what do you think?
