Tying the Knot

Shirt: Old Navy (old) / Skirt: Forever21 (old) / Shoes: Keds/ Sunglasses: Forever21

knotted shirts

This summer one of the trends I've wanted to experiment with is a knotted shirt. This trend works great, if like me you have a top that is grossly out shape and by knotting it you can bring it back to life. My stripped orange tank from Old Navy had seen better days, but being the (clothing) hoarder that I am I had been holding on to simply because I liked the variation in the stripes. After scrolling through Pinterest and seeing oodles of outfits with knotted shirts I decided to knot this top and pair it with  my orange pencil skirt from Forever21 and my Keds. I placed a white cami underneath the tank because it was so loose and low. I think it made for a simple but cute look.

Are you a fan of knotted shirts?

Christmas Wishlist 2011

Hello Lovely Sophisticated People!

I know I've been gone for a while now, but I've been crazy busy preparing for exams and trying to finish out the semester strong. Thankfully, my hard work paid off and I made the Dean's List for the semester. Now, with exams out of the way I have the time to focus on other things and hopefully in the next few weeks I won't be such a negligent blogger. I promise that you can expect a new, regular post in the near future!

That said, in lieu of the Christmas Holiday I decided to share with you guys my Christmas Wishlist. Pink satin pumps from Aldo, a red blazer, red jeans, UGG Boots, an Iphone...and good 'ole cash. Hopefully Santa will be good to me this year and bring me everything on my list!

-xoxo

I Love New York: TEEN VOGUE Fashion U

Untitled #1
Call it a teenage dream come true! Three days spent in New York
City at the Conde Nast Building  learning about Teen Vogue
Magazine and the World of Fashion from the likes of Amy Astley
(Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief) and the fabulous Ms. Betsy Johnson.
Yes, it is my teenage dream and in exactly three weeks it will be
coming true as I was accepted into TEEN VOGUE Fashion
University. Now before you go trying to send in your SAT
scores to the Conde Nast Building, please allow me to
explain that although there is an admissions process,
TEEN VOGUE Fashion University is not an actual
University. However, applicants submit an application to
spend three days in New York City attending seminars at
Teen Vogue headquarters.

The three day event will begin on Friday night with a private
shopping event and party at H&M on 42nd street. The
following day will be jammed packed with seminars and sessions,
there's even a lunch at the Jessica Simpson show room which
I'm super excited about. Later on that night there will be
another  private shopping event at TopShop  and then the
weekend will end on Sunday with a presentation on
Fashion in the digital age. For the longest, I've been trying
to decide on outfits for my three days in the city and I
think I'm pretty close to having them all planned out.

Let me know what you think of them!
