Heels in the Outfield

Skirt: Forver21/ Sweater: c/o Deb/ Blazer: Thrifted/ Shoes: c/o Deb/ Clutch: Charlotte Russe/ Tights: Gap/ Necklace: Rue21 (similar)

Let me start out by saying I would never really wear heels and a short skirt to a baseball game. In fact, an outfit like this would be appropriate for a trip to your favorite restaurant, a  slightly casual dinner/ holiday party or, if you're just fabulous, a day of shopping.

I pulled together a mix of  super old and new items from my closet to make this look work. The entire outfit is styled around the baby pink skater skirt from Forever21. It was a steal at only $15.80 and can be styled in many different ways. Originally sticking to a neutral color palette I threw on my brown tights from Gap, nude ankle strap pumps from deb along with this chunky tan sweater. The babule necklace is one that  I have for nearly four years now and was on super sale at Rue21. To add a little depth to the outfit I put on my suede cranberry blazer and my look was complete.

What do you think?

Eye of the Tiger

Sweatshirt: c/o Deb / Jeggings: The Limited/ Boots: c/o Deb/ Bag: Michael Kors/ Sunglasses:The Limited

The entire time that I was writing this post, all I could think of was Katy Perry's song, Roar. I guess it has a lot to do with the roaring tiger on the front of my sweatshirt. I wore this outfit for a casual movie date last weekend. It was pretty chilly outside, so I wanted to be completely covered up and casual, but still cute. My leather jeggings made the look more date appropriate than jeans and a bit of lipstick (not pictured) also spiced things up a little. These boots will be making several appearances on the blog this winter, I am sure. They are super comfy and a cognac brown boot is a staple in any woman's closet.

Sunday-Go-To-Meeting Clothes

Shirt: Forever 21 (Similar) / Skirt: Thrifted (Similar)/ Belt: Express (Similar) / Shoes: c/o Deb/ Clutch: Charlotte Russe (Similar

If you've never heard the term "Sunday-Go-To-Meeting Clothes" you're probably not from the South. Sunday-Go-To-Meeting Clothes are the sharpest items you have in your closet, that are reserved for special occasions (Sunday Morning Church Service, a Date, Funeral or Wedding) and when you want to make a good impression. I pulled out my Sunday's best yesterday for Church and a lunch date with my little sister.

Though I think it is important to wear modest dress to church, I don't think style should be omitted from the equation. Alone both my thrifted houndstooth skirt and floral printed blouse make for modest separates, but put together they created a noticeably stylish pair. My sparkly pink belt proved to be the perfect accent and my caged heels from Deb were also a good accessory for this particular look.

Also, I typically am hesitant to mix prints but the cohesion that existed between this shirt and skirt was undeniable. It was ultra feminine and I felt very much like a Southern Belle should when she gets all dolled up in her Sunday-Go-To-Meeting Clothes!

Classy and Sassy

Top: c/o deb/ Pants: Marshall's/ Shoes: c/o deb/ Purse: Michael Kors/ Bracelet: Rue21

Maybe it was my glasses, but in this outfit I felt like a classy and sassy little nerd...with puffy hair (The wind was not cooperating with me!) You can never go wrong with cheetah print or black which were the bread and butter for this look. Though often times black pants can be boring and bland, these ones from Marshall's were anything but, mostly because they are super fitted and figure enhancing. I cuffed them on this particular day but un-cuffed they fall right above my ankles and are just as cute. I paired them with this cheetah printed peplum top from Deb along with these delicious nude pumps. Despite the wind and my puffy hair I still say that this outfit was a success.
