All Dolled Up

In celebration of my 21st birthday, I took a trip with one of my good friends to the island of Oahu, Hawaii. The trip was derailed a bit when our flight was cancelled and then again when we landed safely in Honolulu, but our luggage was still in San Francisco, California. A day later when our luggage finally arrived, we decided to get all dolled up and indulge in a fancy dinner.

We dined on the beach at the Beachhouse at the Moana, the view was beautiful and the food was absolutely   delicious. We also got stopped multiple times by people who loved our flora printed dresses.

What Up Tho?

That's what you're all thinking right? I know, its been a long time since I've updated this thing....and to be honest, its been equally as long since I've worn something decent. As much as I would love to roll out of bed on a regular basis and throw on a cutie-patootie outfit, my schedule and workload do not permit. Not to mention, my priorities have shifted just a bit over the past year...but that's a story for later.

I wore this outfit to my cousin's cotillion this past weekend. As you can see, I'm transitioning the leather (or in my case, faux-leather) trend from the fall and winter into the spring.

I can't say that there was any inspiration for this fit...more or less everything just seemed to work.
Thoughts?

A Kardashian Christmas

Red and green may be the colors most commonly associated with Christmas but this holiday season I decided to spread my holiday cheer in pink and leather. I have to admit though, I didn't come up with this combination all on my own...

All winter and summer long I watched as Kim Kardashian flounced around in leather leggings, pants, and skirts with her new boyfriend Kanye West. It almost became her go-to uniform: leather skinnies and pumps.

As the Kardashians are known to do everything in an extremely extravagant and fabulous manner, I decided to channel my inner Kardashian (once again) for a Kardashian style Christmas outfit. Though Kim probably would have nixed the pink shirt and just worn the jacket by itself, a cleavage baring ensemble wouldn't have been the most appropriate for my family dinner or the cold North Carolina weather.

Pink Top: J. Crew - Orig. $79.99 /  Sale $29.99
Jacket: Stien Mart - Orig. $40/ Sale $25
Jeggings: The Limited-  Orig. $69.95 /Sale $30
Pumps: BCBG- Orig. $89/ Sale $21.35
Purse: Michael Kors: Christmas Gift
Earrings: Vera Wang- Orig. $26/ Sale $3.20

What do you think of the leather trend Kim has been rocking lately? Would you ever give it a whirl?

Tacky But Classy

When it comes to my personal style, tacky is not generally the word I would use to describe it, it's actually the complete opposite.

However, last night I attended a "Tacky But Classy" Christmas party which gave me an excuse to put on the gaudiest frock I could get my hands on!

While most everyone else opted for the classic tacky Christmas sweater, I decided to spice things up in a Tina Turner-esque party dress.

Now of course this was not just hanging in my closet waiting to be worn. I actually found it a couple hours before the party at a thrift store that my friends told me about and it only set me back $4.99.

Already the perfect shade of Christmas Tree Green I piled on my red lipstick and slipped into my crushed red velvet kitten heel shoes. I also accessorized with my gold geometric earrings from Aldo and gold bangles.

Because I purchased this dress on such short notice I didn't have the chance to have any alterations made, but how cute would it be if it were a little more tailored to my body?

Can't wait to begin posting again, I've missed you all!
